Dominican Republic and Bangladesh Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Ties


Delhi - On the sidelines of the SIDS4 meeting held in Antigua and Barbuda from 27th to 30thMay, 2024 , H.E. Roberto Álvarez, Minister of External Affairs of the Dominican Republic, met with his Bangladeshi counterpart, H.E. Mohammed Hasan Mahmud.

Their discussions focused on strengthening the bilateral relations between both countries, exploring commercial and investment opportunities, and addressing regional security concerns, particularly the deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti.

This meeting reflects both nations' commitment to expanding cooperation and addressing shared challenges on the global stage. In 2022, the Dominican Republic appointed, H.E. David Puig, as its first concurrent ambassador to Dhaka, resident in New Delhi. Since then, both countries have undertaken a series of initiatives, including the negotiation of agreements, to develop their bilateral ties.
