Port Authority of the Dominican Republic participates in the ICDRI 2022

New Delhi –  On the 5th of May 2022, Alejandrina Sosa Marrante, Consultant for strategic communication at the Port Authority of the Dominican Republic (APORDOM) participated in in the International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI 2022) organized by the Coalition for the Development of Resilient Infrastructures (CDRI).

In her intervention in the online panel “Enabling Resilient, Sustainable and Inclusive Infrastructure Transitions in SIDS and LDCs”, Alejandrina Sosa Marrante shared her views on the challenges posed by hydrological and meteorological hazards to the port infrastructure of the Dominican Republic. She also took the opportunity to present the various initiatives taken by APORDOM to strengthen the resilience of touristic, commercial and fishing port infrastructures in the country.

Previous to the beginning of the conference Mr. Max Puig, Executive Vice president of the  National Council on Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism (NCCCDM), recorded a video at the request of the ICDRI organizers, highlighting the importance of the conference for sharing knowledge and solutions for the development of resilient infrastructure.

The International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI) is an annual conference of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI). It brings together member countries, organizations and institutions to strengthen the global discourse on disaster and climate resilient infrastructure. In 2018 and 2019, the first and second International Workshop on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure took place in New Delhi, India. ICDRI 2021 was hosted virtually. The fourth edition of ICDRI was organized in hybrid format in partnership with the United States Government.
