H.E. David Puig is invited to open the 10th Training program for Bankers of the ISA countries
New Delhi - On Monday 7th June 2021, H.E. David Puig was invited to address the virtual inauguration ceremony of the 10th batch of the Training program for Bankers of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) countries.
Taking place from the 7th to the 11th June, this five day course is the last of a series designed and implemented over the past few months by the ISA with the aim of providing bankers with business models, risk mitigation mechanisms and instruments to evaluate the financial viability of solar energy projects.
Amit Kaushik, Chief of Unit, Program and Project Implementation Cluster at the ISA, greeted the participants while H.E. David Puig highlighted the importance of the Bankers Training Program and the wide interest it has awakened in the ISA countries.
For the 10th batch, more than 147 bankers have registered from Africa, Middle East, Asia, Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean. Amongst them, 20 representatives from the Dominican Republic Central Bank and private banking institutions are taking part in the course.
The Dominican Republic's participation in this course has been coordinated by the National Council for Climate Change, the Ministry of Energy and Mines, along with the Dominican Republic Embassy in New Delhi.
A franco-indian initiative launched in 2015, with headquarters in Gurugam, India, the ISA was conceived as a coalition of solar-resource-rich countries to address their special energy needs. It aims at being "an action-oriented, member-driven, collaborative platform for increased deployment of solar energy technologies to enhance energy security and sustainable development, and to improve access to energy in developing member countries".
