Hindi translations of children’s books by Dominican authors presented at the New Delhi World Book Fair
The Hindi translations of the Dominican children books Cata and Lina, by the writer Nelia Barletta, and Upside Down, written by Kianny Antigua, were presented on Saturday 9th February at the International Pavillion of the New Delhi World Book Fair. The publications, translated by Vijaya Venkataraman, were presented by Ambassador David Puig and Yuvraj Malik, director of the National Book Trust (NBT) of India.
Both the publications which appear under the imprint of the National Book Trust are part of a collaboration between the National Book Trust and the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in India initiated in 2022. The 52nd edition of the Fair, which took place from February 1 to 9, 2025, had as its central theme the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence, and had Russia as a guest country. The fair was attended by more than two million visitors and the participation of more than 2,000 publishers.
