Dominican Republic and India Sign a Cooperation MoU in Meteorology
New Delhi - Dominican Republic and India agreed to cooperate in the area of meteorology with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Meteorological Office of the Dominican Republic (ONAMET) and the Indian Meteorological Department on 24th April, 2024.
The MoU was signed at the Ministry of Earth and Sciences of the Government of India by Ambassador David Puig on behalf of Gloria Ceballos, Director of ONAMET, and Dr. S. Pai, Scientist G at the India Meteorological Department. The agreement was signed in the presence of Vice Minister of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic José Ramón Holguin Brito, the Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Dr. M. Ravichandran and the Director of the Indian Meteorological Department, Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.
This agreement represents a step forward in strengthening scientific cooperation between the two nations as it will enable cooperation in areas such as early warning systems, capacity building in meteorological predictions, and satellite data analysis.
