CDRI Fellowship Program Selects Dominican Researchers for Innovative AI-Based Project for Resilience

Delhi - The Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) Fellowship Program 2024-2025 selected a team of Dominican researchers from INTEC University for a innovative project titled “Artificial Intelligence-Based Simulator for Decision Making in Risk Management and Climate Emergency Scenarios.” Developed with researchers from INTEC and the University of Havana, the project will be lead by Ulises Jauregui Haza from INTEC University.

The official announcement was made on April 25th in New Delhi during the ICDRI 2024 conference, in the presence of Vice Minister of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic, José Ramón Holguín Brito.  The selected project aims to develop advanced AI-driven tools to enhance decision-making in critical scenarios related to climate emergencies and risk management.

This recognition highlighted the expertise and commitment of the Dominican research community, as well as the importance of international collaboration in addressing global challenges. The project intends to make a significant contribution to the global understanding and response to the growing threats posed by climate change, offering valuable insights and solutions for communities worldwide.

The CDRI Fellowship Programme, launched in September 2020, aims to develop a global pool of professionals shaping a resilient future for infrastructure. It provides a 12-month seed grant, financial support, peer learning, and capacity development opportunities to foster transformative solutions for disaster resilience.
