ProDominicana presents investment opportunities to the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry

New Delhi - On the 23rdJune 2021, ProDominicana and the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in India participated in the event “Global Trade and Investment Opportunities for Indian Industry in Caribbean Islands: Trinidad & Tobago and Dominican Republic” organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) from India. 

Mrs. Biviana Riveiro Disla, Executive Director, and Mr. Marcial Smester, Investment Director, of ProDominicana explained the role and the services provided by this entity, the body in charge of the promotion of Investment and Export in the Dominican Republic. They also described the positive investment climate of the Dominican Republic, highlighting the political stability of the country, its excellent and continuous performance in terms of growth rate, as well as the incentives in place to attract investments in different sectors. Infrastructure, mining, tourism, real estate, renewable energies, finance, telecommunications and manufacturing in free zones where amongst the sectors featured in their presentations. Special attention was also given to the development of the Dominican Republic as a location for international film productions and the logistic facilities offered by the country to companies wishing to have a distribution hub in the hearth of the Americas. 

Ambassador David Puig praised the organization for an event dedicated to the Caribbean region. “Such specific and focused interactions are essential to showcase to the Indian business community the potential of countries like the Dominican Republic” he said.   

The event held on the PHDCCI virtual platform was headed by Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal,  President of the PHDCCI, and attended by more than 170 participants.
