Deputy Director of ProDominicana participates in WAIPA meeting in Delhi

NEW DELHI – Mildred de lo Santos, Deputy Director of the Export and Investment Center of Dominican Republic (ProDominicana) travelled to India to participate in the 27th conference of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) hosted by Invest India in New Delhi from the 11th to the 14th December 2023.

On the election for the positions of the WAIPA Steering Committee for the period 2023–2025, ProDominicana was elected regional representative for the Latin American and Caribbean regions.  On attending the conference, Ambassador David Puig congratulated ProDominicana Deputy Director, Mildred de los Santos, for the recognition of the work of the Dominican Republic trade and investment agency in the LAC region.

Under the theme “Empowering Investors: IPAs Pioneering Future Growth,” the meeting was inaugurated by Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles. With the participation of over 1000 attendees, 50 Investment Promotion Agencies, and various multilateral agencies, the event featured sessions on various sectors such as Agri-Food Processing, Energy/Infrastructure, Tourism, Automotive & Machinery, ICT/Technology, and Life Sciences.
