India offers cybersecurity training to Dominican professionals
New Delhi - A group of 18 professionals from the Dominican Republic participated, from November 21 to December 16, 2022, in an academic program “Specialized Training Programme in Cyber Security & Malware Analytics, Reverse Engineering for Dominican Republic” organized within the framework of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program (ITEC). The four-week training took place at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing Mohali, in the city of Mohali, in the state of Punjab.
The course was attended by Dominican officials from various government institutions, including the Central Bank, the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies, the Port Authority, the National Telecommunications Institute, the Technological Institute of the Americas, the Ministry of the Armed Forces, the National Cybersecurity Center, the General Directorate of Budget, the Agricultural Bank, and the National Emergency and Security Systems 911.
Asked about this cooperation initiative provided by the Indian government, the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Republic of India, H.E. David Puig, "thanked the Indian government for its willingness to collaborate with the strengthening of Dominican capacities in an area of strategic importance for national interests such as cybersecurity."
India's Technical and Economic Cooperation Program is a bilateral assistance program funded by the government of India that, through training initiatives, aims to address the needs of developing countries. In addition to the Dominican Republic, the program has partnerships with more than 158 countries, including states of Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. Since its founding in 1964, ITEC has invested more than 2 billion dollars in providing technical assistance to the countries incorporated into the program, benefiting thousands of students and professionals worldwide.
